Project Description:
The Tataouine photovoltaic plant, located in the south of the country, have a maximum installed capacity of 10 MW and will supply the national electricity grid with over 20 GWh of energy per year, with an overall CO2 savings of around 260,000 tonnes in its expected 25 operating years. The project, of which we are 50% operators, provides for the transfer of produced energy to the national company Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz (STEG) on the basis of a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement. The plant was built by a new joint venture between ENI and the Entreprise Tunisienne d’Activités Pétrolières (ETAP) State Company dedicated exclusively to the production of energy from renewable sources.
The plant is equipped with a solar tracking system to optimise the energy produced.
